Middle School Closing Ceremony celebrates Form II boys
The Form II boys celebrated their achievements in Middle School during the annual Middle School Closing Ceremony. The class was recognized for their contributions to the community before receiving their certificates noting their completion of the Middle School program.
Head of Middle School Dr. Jay Greytok ’83 honored the class during his remarks and encouraged them to work hard as they head to the Upper School in September, and to try new things, even if they may fail.
“We challenge you to embrace the work that is to come and consider the Latin phrase labor ipse voluptas, which means ‘work itself is a pleasure,’” said Dr. Greytok. “Don’t fear failure, strive for it. If you fail, by all means, don’t quit. Try one more time, no matter how long it takes. You will gain confidence and know that you can do something. Chances are you will realize the pleasure in the work you accomplished.”
Middle School Student Body President George C. shared his perspective of the class, noting that they were the first to complete all three grades in the Middle School building, which was completed in 2020. Head of School Tyler Casertano celebrated the class as they marked this milestone in their educational journey and acknowledged all they have accomplished during their time in the Middle School.
Dean of Middle School Dr. Amy Rottura announced various award winners. Dr. Greytok then presented the boys with their certificates, marking the end of their Middle School journey and sharing well wishes for their move to Form III.
